Best Golf Networking Breakfast In Dubai Is Back
The golf networking breakfast at Five Iron Golf is back on after the summer break, and there are already 20 people booked in.
If you want to meet other business owners in Dubai without standing in a hotel ballroom swapping business cards, this is the one to try. Simulator golf, a proper breakfast, coffee, and a room full of people who run their own businesses and actually want to talk. Under AED 80 for the morning.
Two hours, early, before the working day starts. You get put on a simulator bay with three or four other people, you play a few holes, and you talk. That is the whole mechanic.
Why golf networking works
The reason it works is that nobody is pitching. You are stood beside someone for forty minutes waiting your turn to hit, and conversation happens on its own. By the time breakfast lands you already know what the other three people do, who they serve, and whether there is anything worth following up on. Compare that to a standard networking event where you do ninety seconds each with twenty strangers and remember none of them.
Handicap does not matter. Half the room are beginners and the simulators hand out mulligans without judgement. If you have never swung a club, you will be fine, and you will probably get more conversation out of it than the good players.

Five Iron Golf: Dubai and the next opening
Five Iron Golf has grown fast in Dubai, and that tells you something about how much appetite there is here for golf you can actually get to on a weekday morning. They have already expanded into Business Bay, putting a venue right in the middle of the city’s densest business district.
For a networking event, that matters more than it sounds. Real golf in Dubai means a 5am alarm, a drive out to the course, four and a half hours on grass and a write-off of the whole morning. Nobody with a business to run is doing that on a Tuesday. A simulator bay ten minutes from the office turns golf from a full-day commitment into a breakfast meeting that happens to involve hitting a ball. That is the entire reason the format has taken hold here.
The Business Bay location also makes the maths work for anyone based around DIFC, Downtown or Business Bay itself. This month’s breakfast is at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi, however, and finishes at 10am.
New Five Iron Golf opening in Yas Bay
The next one is Yas Bay in Abu Dhabi, opening soon. That is a serious location to land in. Yas Bay Waterfront is the promenade beside Etihad Arena on Yas Island, surrounded by hotels, restaurants and the whole Yas entertainment strip, so a bay there is walkable from where a lot of Abu Dhabi business and hospitality already happens.
More importantly, it opens the format up to the Abu Dhabi business crowd, who have had nothing comparable on their doorstep.
It also means something for anyone working across both emirates. Simulator golf is the same game in every bay, so a contact you make on a Dubai morning can just as easily meet you at Yas Bay next time, and the Abu Dhabi rooms will bring in a different set of people again: more government-adjacent, more energy and infrastructure, more family business. If you sell into Abu Dhabi and your network there is thin, the Yas Bay opening is worth watching for.
Expect the first Abu Dhabi mornings to fill fast, the same way the Dubai ones do when they come back after a break.
Who you will meet
The room is a mix, which is the point. Property brokers, owners of small and mid-size businesses, finance and legal people, contractors, agency and marketing types, plenty of people running things in construction and fit-out. Heavy on entrepreneurs and business owners rather than corporate employees, which means the people you meet can actually make decisions.
There is a strong Irish and British contingent, plus a broad international crowd, which is Dubai all over. If you have recently moved here and you are trying to build a network from zero, a room of business owners who are all in the same position is a shortcut.
How to get more out of each monthly breakfast
Go more than once. One morning gets you four conversations. Six mornings gets you a network. The people who get real business out of this are the regulars, because the whole thing runs on people remembering your face and knowing what you do.
Do not pitch on the bay. Answer the question when it is asked, keep it to a sentence, and move on. The follow-up is where business happens, not the simulator.
Follow up the same day. A short message that afternoon while they still remember which one you were. Not a sales message, just a connect.
Bring someone. If you know another business owner who is struggling to meet people in Dubai, bring them. You look good, they owe you one, and you both have a familiar face in the room.
For the price of two coffees and a croissant in Downtown you get two hours of golf, breakfast, and four to six proper conversations with people who run businesses. It is the cheapest networking in Dubai by a wide margin, and it is the only format I have found where the conversations are long enough to be worth anything.
